Thank a Volunteer Day

Funding of up to $1,000 is available for community organisations to host events or activities on Thank a Volunteer Day, December 5. The grants support organisations to host community events to acknowledge and celebrate the role of volunteers in the community. Organisations that receive Thank a Volunteer Day grant must hold their event on 5 December.

Youth Development Traineeship Program

During the transition of the former Department of Local Government and Communities' grant programs to the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, the Department of Communities is providing administrative support for the Country Local Government Fund (CLGF) grant programs. 

Traineeships of up to $20,000 are available to country local governments to employ young people, aged 24 years or under, in a traineeship program.

Youth Development Traineeship applications now open.


Youth Development Scholarship Program

During the transition of the former Department of Local Government and Communities' grant programs to the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, the Department of Communities is providing administrative support for the Country Local Government Fund (CLGF) grant programs. 

Scholarships of up to $10,000 per individual is available to country local government employees in WA, 30 years and under, to undertake nationally accredited training.

Program Up to $10,000 for local governments and community service organisations to implement projects that engage young people (10–18 years old) in creative ways and help achieve positive outcomes

Community Development Scholarship Program

Scholarships up to $10,000 are available to country local governments to support eligible employees and elected members to participate in community development training.
