The Department of Local Government and Communities (DLGC) partners with the community services sector to provide programs that assist families in Western Australia.

Aboriginal early years

Parenting services that provide information, assistance and support to parents and families with children aged from pre-birth to 18 years.

Rural early education and care

Organisations that provide sessional or occasional early education and care services in regional areas, many of which have limited or no alternative child care options available.

Major funded services

  • Ngala - provides early parenting and early childhood services and supports and guides families through the journey of parenting.
  • Meerilinga - works with children, their families, early childhood professionals, planners and the community to raise the status of children in Western Australia.
  • CLAN WA - works alongside West Australian families to help build resilience by supporting parents with issues including relationships, reducing isolation or the impact of mental illness.
