Review of the Caravan Parks and Camping Grounds Act 1995

New caravan parks and camping grounds legislation is being developed to replace the Caravan Parks and Camping Grounds Act 1995 (the Act). The aim is to provide a legislative framework that better meets the needs of consumers, operators and regulating authorities, reduces red tape and safeguards the health and safety of everyone. This review is an initiative of the Western Australia Caravan and Camping Action Plan, which is supported by the State Government’s Royalties for Regions program.

The Caravan Parks and Camping Grounds Regulations 1997 contain the fine detail of the legislation and preliminary work on the regulations is being undertaken by the Department of Local Government and Communities (DLGC) in parallel with work on the new Act.
