Get creative and show the world age is just a number by submitting a two minute film in the Life in Pictures short film competition, now open.

Entries that challenge the perceptions of ageing and get people talking about the positives aspects of ageing are highly sought.

The Life in Pictures short film competition is a creative partnership between the Department of Local Government and Communities (DLGC), Revelation Perth International Film Festival and Screenwest.

Life in Pictures encourages people – the film makers and the viewers – to stop and think about how society views growing older while aiming to stimulate a positive discussion about ageing.

Entries should challenge perceptions, considering how seniors add value to our communities. This includes their contribution to families, culture, the economy, volunteering and tourism.

Entries are open to individuals and organisations, in three categories, with a prize pool of up to $20,000 available to entrants and tailored to suit each category.

  • Students and schools: aged up to 17 years and schools
  • Open: aged 18 – 59 years
  • Seniors: aged 60 years and over.

Finalists will have their films screened at a special event during the Revelation Perth International Film Festival.

Entries are now open and close on 31 May 2017.

For guidelines and to enter visit the Revelation Perth International Film Festival website.
