A legal and social welfare advocate for Aboriginal people, a nurse who served in Palestine, Syria and Egypt with Allied Forces and a female jockey were among 15 inductees welcomed into the WA Women's Hall of Fame on 8 March.

Supported by the Department of Local Government and Communities, the Hall of Fame is held annually on International Women's Day to recognise the significant achievements of Western Australian women past and present, encourage greater gender equality and motivate support for programs and strategies that foster women's empowerment in Western Australia.

Among the inductees was actress, director, writer and 2016 Juniper Seniors Champion Jenny Davis OAM. Jenny was honoured for her work in combining theatre, education and community health to develop arts programs that engage younger and older West Australians.

Four women were also included on the roll of honour which acknowledges the outstanding efforts of women who have passed away.
